“Realistically the next step was to do a rematch with Spence,” Crawford stated via Matchroom Boxing. “For whatever reason it didn’t happen, so I had to move on with my career. The ultimate goal was to try to get the Canelo fight. That didn’t happen, so we went to the next best thing.”
On the other hand, Israil Madrimov has successfully made the move from his prosperous amateur career in Europe to the professional ranks with an undefeated record of 10-0-1 and a global championship.
